We’ve always loved the exceptional stories featured in ACTION STORIES magazine. Having recently noticed that only eight issues were available on our site, we’ve restored and added three more issues originally published in December 1938, Spring 1945, and Spring 1950. Among others you can find in them excellent fast-paced stories by Walt Coburn, William Heuman, Karl Kasky and Les Savage Jr.

AUDIO COMIC BOOKS
In homage to the film DRACULA: A LOVE TALE, currently in theaters, we’ve added the original 1966 graphic novel DRACULA, read by the great Sir Christopher Lee, to our site. You can view it below, on our Home Page and in the Audio Comics section.
Also, the most demanding can now listen to the audiobook of Bram Stoker‘s original work (1897) in our Horror Audiobooks section.
PULP COVERS
Starting this month, the Western Covers and Horror Covers sections present the best magazine features selected by decade, specifically from the 1880s to the 1960s for the former and from the 1920s to the 1950s for the latter.

During the production phase we found a way to introduce 2 more horror covers (1934 and 1935) and 2 western covers (1938 and 1950) in their own section, always with the aim of reaching the best 21 covers relating to each single year.
“…?”
If you’re wondering what that bizarre illustration at the top of this post means, it’s the magnificent and powerful cover illustration for H. G. Wells’s THE WAR OF THE WORLDS, which appeared in Cinefantastique magazine in the spring of 1977 and is featured on our website in the Sci Fi Covers section.
VINTAGE MAGAZINES
Added 3 more AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHER issues (January 1977, July 1977, December 1978) to their section, including, among other things, interesting period making-of footage of KING KONG (1976) and STAR WARS (1977). Also added 6 more issues of COSMOPOLITAN (January, March, April, May, June and August 1955) belonging to what is considered by many to be its golden age.

OLD COMICS
Finally, we’ve added our first four issues of STORIES BY FAMOUS AUTHORS ILLUSTRATED to the list on the Old Comics page. The remaining nine issues of the complete series are currently being restored and will be added to the page by the end of December.

That’s all, for now
I wish you to enjoy the warmth of a wonderful winter in the company of
Davide Dana.
